Nature & City Tours

Experienced

For my day job I work in the Falklands Government, alongside our politicians. I’ve accompanied our Legislators on trips to the US to attend the UN and meet with various nations Ambassadors, and US Senators. I’ve also been part of the official government welcome to UK Ministers, Politicians and business-people from around the world.

I also used to be the deputy-editor of our national paper, The Penguin News, and have written about the Falklands for The Sunday Times and other prestigious publications. I left the Falklands for 8 years to study in the UK, but other than that have lived in the Falklands my whole life.

Local

I’m a 7th Generation Islander, with my roots tracing back to some of the original settlers of the Falkland Islands.

Ask me about:

Our theatre group: The Falklands have an Amateur Dramatics society I used to be on the committee for, and still support. Our political structure: Working in our Political Office I know our system well, and if you’re a politics and civics fan then you’ve picked the right tour by going with Islander Insight! Local events: You may be surprised to learn how packed a Falklands social calendar can be!

Fun facts:

Many of our young people (myself included) leave the Islands alone at 16 to study overseas. We have a near 100% employment rate. Our home ownership rate is high, globally speaking. The last census (2021) showed 86 nationalities present in the Islands.
